    PENGELOLAAN PEMBELAJARAN IPS SMP TERBUKA (STUDI SITUS SMP TERBUKA I PATEAN KABUPATEN KENDAL)

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) karakteristik perencanaan pembelajaran di SMP Terbuka 1 Patean Kab. Kendal; (2) karakteristik pelaksanaan pembelajaran di SMP Terbuka 1 Patean Kab. Kendal; (3) Karakteristik hasil pelaksanaan pembelajaran di SMP Terbuka 1 Patean Kab. Kendal. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan strategi etnografi. Peneliti hadir langsung di lokasi penelitian sebagai pengumpul data. Selain itu teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Keabsahan data diuji dengan teknik triangulasi. Sedangkan analisis data diawali dari pengumpulan data, penyajian data serta pengambilan kesimpulan. Berdasar pada uraian hasil penelitian dan pembahasan, maka penelitian ini disimpulkan sebagai berikut. (1) Perencanaan pembelajaran IPS di SMP Terbuka 1 Patean telah mengikuti kaidah perencanaan dalam manajemen pembelajaran SMP Terbuka. Hal ini terlihat adanya aktivitas penyusunan perencanaan pembelajaran, penyiapan Guru Bina, Guruu Pamong, penyusunan jadwal serta rencana evaluasi pembelajaran. Selain itu juga disiapkan modul pembelajaran yang dijadikan pegangan para siswa. (2) Pada pelaksanaan pembelajaran IPS di SMP Terbuka 1 Patean Kepala sekolah, Guru Bina, dan Guru Pamong mampu menjalankan tugas sesuai dengan job description-nya. Pembelajaran dilaksanakan di TKB dan di sekolah induk. Pelaksanaannya dilakukan secara kondisional, artinya menyesuaikan kondisi lapangan yang sesuai dengan karakter masayarakat dan siswa. Misalnya, kemudahan dalam rekrutmen, pemberian motivasi, tidak memberatkan, dan pembelajaran menyenangkan sehingga keberlangsungan pembelajaran tetap berjalan dengan baik. (3) Keberhasilan pembelajaran di SMP Terbuka 1 Patean terlihat pada partisipasi siswa dan dukungan warga sekitar. Banyak siswa yang mampu menyelesaikan studi hingga tuntas. Prestasi siswa dalam Lomonjari. Ada siswa yang mampu meraih kerja dengan baik

    Solar Tracking Dual-Axis Berbasis Mikrokontroler dengan Menggunakan Lensa Fresnel Guna Meningkatkan Efisiensi Pemfokusan Cahaya Matahari ini merupakan sebuah alat yang dirancang untuk mengarahkan Solar cell ke cahaya matahari. Alat ini bekerja dengan menggunakan 4 buah sensor LDR (Light Dependent Resistor) dan dua Motor Servo MG996 sebagai aktuator/penggeraknya. Sistem ini dikendalikan oleh Arduino Nano yang menjalankan program yang ditanamkan oleh software Arduino IDE (Integrated Development Environment). Hasil pengujian menunjukkan perbandingan tegangan dan arus yang dihasilkan Solar cell, sehingga dapat dihitungan nilai daya yang dihasilkan. Daya maksimum pada Solar Tracking (Pmax) dengan menggunakan lensa Fresnel sebesar 6,865 Watt dan tanpa lensa Fresnel sebesar 5,987 Watt. Pada Solar Tracking dengan menggunakan lensa Fresnel nilai efisiensinya sebesar 68,65 % dan tanpa lensa Fresnel nilai efisiensinya sebesar 59,9 %. Dari hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa efisiensi yang dihasilkan Solar cell dengan lensa Fresnel lebih baik dibanding tanpa menggunakan lensa Fresnel

    This paper deals with the attitudes of English teachers and first grade students toward code-switching in classroom communication at junior high schools in Yogyakarta. It aims to describe their attitudes towards CS and to seek out practical implications for English language teaching and learning in Indonesia. To achieve the objectives, 240 first grade students and60English teachers from selected junior high schools volunteered to participate in this study. They were selected by a purposive sampling technique. Data was gathered thorough questionnaires and analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively using the statistical software of SPPS. The results revealed that(1)CS was positively perceived by participants, and(2) no significant difference in participant attitudes toward CS was found, in terms of gender, age, onset of English study, and teaching experience

    ENHANCING ENGLISH TEACHERS’ PEDAGOGICAL COMPETENCE THROUGH LESSON STUDY ACTIVITIES

    This article deals with the implementation of Lesson Study to enhance pedagogical competence of English teachers of senior high schools at Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta. It is aimed at describing the implementation of Lesson Study at 5 senior high schools. The Lesson Study was implemented in five cycles. There were 10 English teachers involved in the study. They engaged in three activities, namely Plan, Do, and See.  In PLAN, the 10 English teachers under the lecturer’s supervision did lesson planning. In DO, one of the English teachers acted out as a model teacher and the rest observed the teaching and learning process targeting learner activities as the angle of the observation practices. In SEE, the participants were engaged in reflecting the teaching learning process. Two techniques: observation and interview were utilized to obtain data from the participants. The result of the study shows that 10 English teachers involved in the study got direct pedagogical competence through the implementation of Lesson Study. Added to this, they claim that the Lesson Study activities provide them with lesson planning skills and teaching skills and encourage them to be self-confident in conducting the English teaching and learning process Key words: English Teacher, Lesson Study, Pedagogical Competenc

    Wayang Beber Sebagai Materi Pelajaran Seni Budaya

    : Wayang Beber as Instructional Material of Arts and Culture. This study aims to describe the teaching and learning process of arts and culture based on uniqueness and local wisdom using wayang beber (beber puppets) material, and to identify the factors which support and hinder the process. The study was carried out in the State Senior High School (SMAN) of Punung, Pacitan regency, a school that implements the method. It is a qualitative study, in which the data were collected through in­terviews, observations, focused group discussions, and document analyses, and analyzed using the in­teractive method of analysis. The results show that the teaching learning process is initiated by designing a syllabus, lesson plans, and developing instructional materials on wayang beber. The factors that support the teaching and learning process include the commitment from the local government of Pacitan re­gency, the school, and the teachers, as well as the students' enthusiasm to learn about wayang beber as part of the local contents that reflects local wisdom. The hindering factors, on the other hand, are limited time allocation for the Arts and Culture subject, and limited number of teachers and learning facilities for the subject.     The Effect of L2 Speaking Anxiety and L2 Learning Motivation on EFL Undergraduate Students’ Willingness to Communicate in L2.

    This study was mainly intended to reveal: (i) the best predictor of freshmen’s in-class L2 WTC; (ii) the relationship between freshmen’s L2 Speaking Anxiety and their L2 Learning Motivation; and (iii) the differences in freshmen’s L2 WTC by demographic variables. To obtain the objectives, correlational study was applied and the data were collected using questionnaires from 155 freshmen of English Education Department in Palangka Raya. To analyze the data, Multiple Regression, Spearman’s Rank Order Correlation, Mann-Whitney, and One-way ANOVA analysis were employed on SPSS version 25. The result revealed that: (i) L2 Speaking Anxiety was the stronger predictor of the freshmen’s L2 WTC than L2 Learning Motivation; (ii) there was a moderate and negative relationship between freshmen’s L2 Speaking Anxiety and their L2 Learning Motivation; (iii) there were no significant differences in freshmen’s L2 WTC by their gender and specialization stream in SHS

    AN INVESTIGATION OF TPACK WITHIN ICT INTEGRATION: THE CASE OF NON-CERTIFIED ENGLISH TEACHERS IN KOLAKA

    This study focuses on non-certified English teachers using Information and Communication Technology (UICT) in the teaching practice with the framework is technological pedagogical and content knowledge (TPACK). The purpose is to elaborate on the interrelationship between all TPACK components and their roles in predicting UICT based on the beliefs of the teachers during teaching practice. The researchers used a mixed-methods design for 20 participants from SMP IT Nur Syamzam Kolaka. Questionnaire and interview, especially semi-structured interviews as an instrument for this study. To collect the data, the researcher did online with the non-certified English teachers at SMP IT Nur Syamzam Kolaka. Using Pearson's correlation coefficient, the relationship between the application of TPACK and the availability of ICT tools was determined by correlating the overall TPACK result with the adequacy of ICT tools. Therefore, the findings of the study that were obtained through the TPACK survey demonstrate how they effectively apply their knowledge. The teachers demonstrate expert knowledge in all TPACK domains. They demonstrate the highest level of knowledge based on the mean of TK (4.28), followed by CK (4.26). While all areas of TPACK have a mean of 4.10, PCK and TPK have the lowest mean (4.11)

    Developing English Textbooks Oriented to Higher Order Thinking Skills for Students of Vocational High Schools in Yogyakarta

    This article is part of research and development under the issue of developing English textbooks oriented to the enhancement of higher order thinking skills (HOTS) for students of vocational high schools (VHSs) in Yogyakarta. This relies on the evidence that the existing textbooks for secondary school levels put an emphasis on memorizing and comprehending which highlight to identify linguistic features of the target language (micro-language skills). This leads to creating the failure of acquiring English language proficiency on the part of students of secondary school levels including students of VHSs. To obtain the objective, there were 14 English teachers and 320 students of vocational high schools from three regencies, namely Sleman, Yogyakarta city, and Bantul voluntarily involved. Three techniques: questionnaire distributions, interviews, and documentation were administered to get data. Then, the gathered data were analyzed using a descriptive qualitative method. In reference to data analysis, four findings are documented as explored in this part of this article. In summary, the development of the English textbooks oriented to HOTS is positively responded by the respondents as the English textbook triggers students of VHSs to establish their higher order thinking skills which lead to students’ creativity and self-regulated learning practices

    This research aims; to explore the potential development of batik Jarum handicraft art as one of local superior commodity in Klaten regency; to study the constraints encountered by the batik Jarum community, both employers and craftsperson, in developing batik handicraft art; to analyze the contribution of Batik Jarum production to reinforcing the communitybased creative economy in Klaten Regency; to find out the diversification of batik Jarum production the Batik Jarum community has done; to find out the Klaten Regency Government’s policy and program in developing Batik Jarum potency to support the community-based creative economic development; This study is a descriptive research with qualitative approach. The data of research will be collected using some methods: field observation, interview, Focus Group Discussion, and documentation. To obtain data validity, source triangulation will be used. Data will be analyzed using an interactive technique of analysis and thematic analysis. Conclude this research are; Batik Jarum has a high diversity of products, because the number of UKM and craftsmen who are in the village of Jarum, they race for innovation and creation; Barriers faced by community batik Jarum is limited product diversification, the competence of UKM and craftsmen to create and innovate, equipment, and marketing strategies; Batik Jarum production contributes to the strengthening of the creative economy can support local economic development through job creation and the improvement of people’s income; Although still limited, batik Jarum community has diversified in terms of the manufacturing techniques, motifs, colors, media, and design; Policies and programs Klaten regency in developing batik Jarum craftsmen is sending for training, study visits, internships and exhibitions in order to improve their competence

    The Intralingual Errors on Writing Performed by English Department Students at the Fourth Semester of Ahmad Dahlan University.

    Nowadays, students are expected to be able to write a research report to fulfill their final assignments. Hence, recognizing errors in order to improve students' ability in writing is considered important. Common causes of errors can be due to the influence of the first language or mother tongue (interlingual errors) or lack of mastering the target language (intralingual errors). The results of previous research show that the biggest cause of errors deals with the lack of students’ mastering in the target language. Therefore, this research focuses on analyzing intralingual errors made by the undergraduate students the fourth semester at Ahmad Dahlan University. This research was conducted qualitatively where the researcher acted as the main instrument. Writing tests and interviews were carried out to obtain the data from the undergraduate students from Ahmad Dahlan University, and their writing texts were being the subject of this research. The objects of the research are words, phrases, and sentences that indicate intralingual errors. The steps of data analysis begin with (1) collecting errors data made by students, (2) identifying errors (3) describing errors, (4) explaining errors (5) evaluating errors. These data were then analyzed by using James’ intralingual errors theory. The results of this research showed that the highest percentage of intralingual errors was found in overgeneralization (41.00%), followed by overlooking co-occurrence restrictions (39.15%), exploiting redundancy (6.63%), misanalysis and incomplete rule applications which had similar result (4.81%), and the lowest percentage was found in false analogy and hypercorrection (1.80%). From the result of interviews with the students, it can be concluded that the internal factors are the main cause of students in making errors. In addition, it seems that the students’ motivation and learning habits affect their mastery of grammar and vocabulary in the target language. In short, this research is expected to be able to contribute to teachers in finding innovations and strategies in learning to write in order to minimize errors made by students. Expectantly, the students are able to write properly in English as well as pay more attention to their strategies and motivation in learning English
